Gender Equality and Women Empowerment

While the world has achieved some success towards gender equality and women’s empowerment, here in India women and girls continue to suffer discrimination and harassment. Elimination of discrimination against women is a tough stance to take, we at the Young Environmentalists aim to incorporate under privileged and lower income women together on the same platform, with our educated community events, conferences, programmes and sustainable development seminars, climate change strategies.

Womens Achievers Awards

Gender Equality is an unfinished agenda. We host the coveted Womens Achievers Awards Convention every year for the last twelve years brining women and girls from all over the world to discuss gender equality and felicitate the achievers among us. Nominations for the awards flow in throughout the year and we collaborate with a esteemed jury to select the deserving awardees in various categories. We give victims of rape, domestic violence, acid attacks, harassment, as well as women leaders and super achievers all a common platform to attend and share their success strategies. The Women Achievers Awards are held on March 7th every year.

The objective of which is to motivate women to maximize their potential by networking for personal and professional growth. Our members are 80% women, and we aim to reach out to a global network of women from various fields so that we can access each other’s mission / talents/ know-how/ expertise and goodwill.
We believe that Gender equality is not only a fundamental human right, but a necessary foundation for a peaceful, prosperous and sustainable world. Today women have gained the right to vote and run for public office; enjoy constitutional status of equality in many countries; women are active participants in the economy; are acquiring high level education; and are playing a crucial role in the political, economic, social and cultural life of their families, communities and villages. Despite the rate of advancement, rape, acid throwing and violence continues against women. The truth is that, despite the much cherished historic achievements of generations of women pioneers and activists, the continuation of both structural discrimination and of direct and indirect discrimination, is responsible for women lagging behind.
Providing women and girls with equal access to education, health care, decent work, and representation in political and economic decision-making processes will fuel sustainable economies and benefit families and humanity at large.
